
My grandfather carved birds out of wood, and then detail them with a soldering iron. The detail of his work is absolutely amazing. I’m not even sure these photos do these models any justice. He was color blind, too. I would occasionally see him etching, but was too young to know that I should watch. He was color blind, too. Grandpa would even come around sometimes with a little bit of mixed paint and ask, “Is this the same color?”
